You do not have to go to traffic to renew your license!

According to the Royal Decree 170/2010 on the 19th of February, we no longer have to go to the Traffic Department and wait in endless long queues to renew our drivers license. Now the renovation can be made directly at the Medical Center where the medical examination is performed. That means, the medical center issuing the certificate is responsible for processing the documentation, giving us a temporary permit valid for 90 days. They will deal with paper work needed by Traffic and we will receive our renewal at our home address.

(This is only for Spanish drivers' licenses or permits of foreigners who have already exchanged there license to a spanish one meaning they have obtained a spanish permit.
