Criminal code reform in road safety

On December 23rd the reform of the Penal Code came into force, among the most important news in relation to road safety infractions, we would like to point out two specifically:

1.- CONFISCATION OF VEHICULE: so far this measure was intended only for drivers for "kamikaze. " However, since the law has come into force, drivers who commit a violation for speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or without a driving license may lose their vehicle permanently, as it can be seized, and considered to be an instrument used to commit the infraction.

2.- MANDATORY DRUG TESTING DETENTION: The other legal measure most prominent is the obligation to undergo drug screening checks for narcotics and psychotropic substances through a saliva test. If the driver refuses, they may incur an offence against the traffic safety.
